Vera is a tinkerer and star guardian. She models her creations after the songs of the galaxies. Her friend Carina suggests that she should apply to become the guardian of a pocket galaxy, but Vera does not want to abandon her dying dwarf star. She plays the tiny star music every day to try and create some comfort. When she is chosen to receive her own pocket universe, Vera’s little star integrates itself into the new galaxy changing the universe’s song. Carina is appalled. That is not the way things are done, but it’s the way Vera does them.
