About the AuthorGreg Herren has written over thirty novels, edited over twenty anthologies, and published over thirty short stories. He has been nominated 14 times for a Lambda Literary Award, winning twice (Best Men's Mystery for Murder in the Rue Chartres and Best Anthology for Love Bourbon Street: Reflections on New Orleans). His anthology Shadows of the Night was shortlisted for the Shirley Jackson Award. He has won two medals from the Independent Press Moonbeam Association for Outstanding Young Adult Mystery/Horror (gold for Sleeping Angel, silver for Lake Thirteen). The New Orleans Times-Picayune called his novel Murder in the Rue Chartres "the most honest and realistic depiction of post-Katrina life in New Orleans published thus far." He co-founded the Saints and Sinners Literary Festival in New Orleans, chaired World Horror Convention in New Orleans in 2012, and has served on the board of Mystery Writers of America for four years. He also served on the Host Commmittee for Bouchercon 2016, and edited the conference anthology. He has served as a judge for the Publishing Triangle, Stoker, Lambda Literary, and Edgar Awards, as well as for the Hammett Prize. He has worked as an editor for Bella Books, the Harrington Park Press, and Bold Strokes Books. He lives in New Orleans, where he works as a public health educator.
