Jane Chang is an English Lit teacher at a private boys' school in D.C. After a difficult last day of term, she lets rip on the over-privileged boys in her care, causing the Dean to suspend her pending investigation over the winter break. Now Jane contemplates her place in the school, and the world in general. An olive branch from a pupil's mother, suggesting she should embrace her minority status in order to save herself, awakens her spirit.
